653 Union Street
The 653 Union Street, or otherwise known as 204 4th Ave project is a new 14-story structure consisting of 193 Market Rate and Affordable Rental Apartments. The new building will be a reinforced concrete structure standing approximately 198 feet tall with a total of 216,500 Square Feet. The contemplated program includes a partial cellar level, ground floor residential and retail, and rental apartments and amenities on the floors above.
The design will propose solutions to the unique site characteristics, this being a brownfield site with adjacencies to the NYCT and a high-ground water table. The N, Q, and R train tunnels run along 4th Avenue as well as the Union Street R train station that spans between Sackett Street and Union Street on 4th Avenue. This project includes an MTA easement within the footprint of the building.
